Sketch-22 Season 5: Assignment: Miami Beach

Here we go again!  Sketch-22 Season 5 is officially underway.  Several writers' meetings have been held and I am happy to report the material is as strange, shocking and outrageous as ever.  But is it funny?  Well, we never really know for sure until we open, but last week Rob brought in a sketch that had me laughing harder than I've laughed since Debbie Gaudet changed my life forever in Season 2.  Interestingly, like other seasons the material so far is a mix of Island related material and stuff that has no relation to PEI whatsoever.  It's not something I think of consciously when I'm writing, but I'm always glad to see when we've got a bit of both.

The writing process will continue until we set some date as a deadline to stop writing and choose our best material for the show.  Usually it's sometime in late-April.  But before we leave the writing phase behind, we'd be curious to hear what kind of material people would like to see in the show this season.  Not that we'll listen to you.  We barely listen to each other.  But it would be interesting to hear what people prefer - Island sketches, sketches that aren't specific to anywhere, raunchy sketches, political sketches, intellectual sketches (hey, remember the sketch about...nevermind.  But we could try to write one!)  Anyhow, send along your ideas.  You could win a Sketch blog response!

And stay tuned for regular updates on Sketch-22 Season 5: The Dream Child.
